About Brandi

Get to Know Brandi

Brandi Jonasson grew up in Emporia, Kansas, and moved to Shawnee in 2004. She and her husband Brian chose their home because of the excellent schools in USD 232. All three of her children have attended USD 232 schools from preschool through high school. Her oldest son is currently a junior at Mill Valley High School, her middle son is a freshman at Mill Valley High School, and her youngest daughter just “graduated” from Prairie Ridge Elementary and is now a 6th grader at Monticello Trails Middle School.

Brandi and her husband own Lure Creative, a digital marketing agency. She is a project manager for the company. She has dedicated hundreds of hours over the past decade serving the Prairie Ridge Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, including serving on the Board for six years. She co-chaired the fall fundraiser for three years and the spring carnival for seven years. She also served as co-chair for Fifth Grade Farewell last year, and was a member of the Fifth Grade Farewell committee during her sons’ fifth grade years. She has led fundraising efforts at Monticello Trails and Prairie Ridge, and has helped to organize community service events at Prairie Ridge. Helping provide family community service events has long been one of her top priorities. Brandi has worked with students, staff, and parents to raise money for the schools while providing fun family activities, and these events have been extremely personally rewarding to her.

Brandi is passionate about public schools. She believes that the schools give so much to her and her family that the very least she can offer them in return is her time. She loves the USD 232 community and the friendliness and small-town feel of this district. She has witnessed first-hand as her children grew how the district is always progressing forward, looking for a better way to send students into the world while keeping in mind that everyone may be on different paths. She believes that USD 232 is doing great things, and this is why she decided to run for a seat on the school board.

In her spare time, Brandi enjoys spending time with her family in nature, watching sports, and going to the movies. She spends most evenings and weekends attending school and sporting events for her children. You may also have seen her dogs taking her for walks up and down Monticello Road!
